What We Know So Far Nearly two years after the final Jeep Cherokee model rolled off the production line, Jeep has confirmed a successor to the iconic namesake. At this year’s Los Angeles auto show, Jeep CEO Antonio Filosa announced the arrival of a new compact SUV with a hybrid powertrain for 2025. While it remains to be confirmed if the new Jeep Cherokee for sale will revive the Cherokee name, Filosa did hint at the arrival of a compact crossover with a familiar name earlier this year. Unfortunately, Jeep is keeping the details of the expected Jeep Cherokee hybrid model quiet, with no mention of technology features, exterior colors, or whether the model will be a plug-in hybrid–similar to the 4xe models–or a traditional hybrid.
